A Concise Biographic

A Concise Biographic: I am Upelluri, the god whose Dream is all Creation. Deep Waters I call my home (Ugarit: t-h-m), I who dreamt of Brahma, the sacred bull, whose milk made all the stars and whose secret name is Kamephis: self-generated, true and immortal, the first man, the last man. Why? Because it is written. But I forgot how to read and wish only to remember. You must help me remember. Stories are my stock and trade, but I forget them all. Each page is a dream and I am the Maya sleeper. In my slumber, the gods played a cruel trick on me: they placed the world upon my shoulders, and made me to forget. It is like the first death, the little death, when fear passes through and only I remain, reborn in myself like a phoenix, but not "actually". I am crushed beneath a great weight, but I myself am Weight: the heaviest element, a gravity well, toroidal black-hole vortex, drawing all things into myself and expressing all things. A hope, a dream, a vision-singer? An unhewn dolmen? A whirling castle? The song of Kokopelli's flute? Who but I holds the secret? Who but I can tell it? At length, I am Upelluri.

Laugh for Upelluri

"Laugh for Upelluri: Learn the secrets he will teach you... Laugh, says Upelluri: Sing to Luna, who longs for the past. Dance for Earth Mother, who gives us so much. Laugh, demands Upelluri: Trick the sullen, who need happiness. Praise the foolish, who forget the truth. Laugh, insists Upelluri: Share your secrets with no one. Tell your tales to everyone. Laugh, commands Upelluri: Teach the naive, who want to learn. Destroy the arrogant, who feel they know all. Laugh for Ullikummi. He is our father, our teacher, our friend... our master, our creator, our destroyer." - W.W. My Star, My Perfect Silence.

God smiled and said, "Luna, you are as beautiful as any creature that has ever existed. You have nothing to fear, for the creatures who left you are still close by, and they will return to you when they are ready." - She did no like this answer. - "It is true that I am beautiful, but the Earth has a special beauty all her own, and I am still all alone." "You will never be alone! I will sing to you each night, after the sun has slipped away. I will sing to you of your beauty from this day forward, for I did not mean for you to lose..." "But what shall I do?" Asked Luna. "The sun will comfort you and keep you warm during the day. When night comes again, I will sing to you. That is all I can do." - Luna felt slighted by this offer.
